Gonna have to say pass on that Montreal trade, JD was drooling over being able to draft Schneider and 2022 is gonna be one of the best draft classes in years, shouldn't be trading that pick.

Montreal rejects puts them way over the cap and they don’t need more picks/prospects and Strome is overrated

Habs decline. We won't trade KK. To make us even consider, I can't see a trade without Lundkvist (we need RD prospect). Schneider is great, but we could have drafted him (Rd is our biggest weakness) so MTL is probably not very high on him.

I agree Montreal declines.... but Schneider is RD. so your reasoning confuses me.

Sharks would be very foolish to take Smith for that little.

Not to mention we cant afford it and this takes up all our contracts for the year and cannot sign Dahlen.

No they dont. fleury will has an outside shot at getting ice time this year, also Juulson is back if he gets to where he was pre injury he will be competing for time and brooks is about ready to make the jump i'm not sure how theres a need for more rd when you have weber and petry locked in for several years.
That being said we arent going to trade KK after everything the habs did this offseason theres not much left to do. At this point they need to see what this group is capable of and then adjust if needed.

Sharks easily decline we have too much invested in our D already, we are cap strapped and this would put us way over our cap!

Honestly rangers would be better off just riding out his contract this year and just walking away in the off season

All I'm saying is that if Bergevin liked Schneider that much, he would have drafted him. He would probably want another RD prospect in a trade, instead of him.

Okay. I see your point now.

Also, imo, Guhle was the right pick.
