Kings trade from a position they are deep in to blues for Dunn who instantly becomes Doughty's line mate for years to come. LA is still a bottom 10 team as they run out Carter and Brown's contracts. Value is fine I guess but I don't really see how Kupari or Thomas fit in the Blues' plans. We've got three top-six centers either locked up or under team control for the next three years. I really feel if the Blues move on from Dunn for prospects the return needs to involve someone who projects to be a scoring winger and someone who projects to be at least a second pair RHD.

The problem here is this trade idea only addresses LA's needs. It entirely ignores the Blues' needs. As in, we're not trading now strength for futures, and we're not looking for more centers.

I’d ask for Iafallo+ or some better prospects than those two. They’re both solid but I think we’d want a higher ceiling guy instead of quantity.
