Calling 3 time cup champion and hall of famer Jim Rutherford the worst GM in the metro. Good joke

How is Jeff Gorton #1? Outside of lucking into two top picks and getting players who only wanted to play in NYC (panarin, fox, and trouba), he's hasn't done all that well.

Bowman is rated 2nd last in the Central and he is also a 3 time cup champion. Do you disagree with that rating?

Pens are still a competitive team, a dark horse cup team. Chicago is literally rebuilding. Big difference. Rutherford may have made some questionable moves but he hasn’t burned this team into the ground like some think. Pens are still basically a playoff lock

I didn't ask about the Pens, Chicago won 3 cups under Bowman so I asked your opinion there.

I mean, it’s tough with him cause he’s REALLY sent Chicago back. Like with a core of toews/Kane plus a good supporting cast, there shouldn’t be any excuse to miss the playoffs 3 years in a row sorta (they would’ve missed this year if it wasn’t covid).

So he definitely deserves the criticism

Yzerman got tampa into cap hell then ran for the hills. How is he #1?
Rutherford and Bowman are pretty low for both having won 3 cups. Yeah they're not perfect but you don't just luck into 3 cups

Totally understandable. Basically I wanted to hear an unbiased viewpoint from you. I do agree that Rutherford should be higher on the list but not the top. Like Bowman, a lot of the teams core pieces were handed to him on a silver platter. Also like Bowman he has made a handful of questionable moves. I think Rutherford should be a few spots up but right now I would say he is in the bottom half of the division

Tampa is in cap hell because of the insane amount of talent on that team. Point, Hedman, Kooch, all grossly underpaid.

If you can win a cup without one of your 8 million dollar players does that make you a good gm or bad gm? Good cus you've built a great team but bad because wasted 8 mil on a unnecessary piece.

Well Rutherford deserves #1 spot in metro maybe behind Waddell but those 2 r clear cut
Briesbois doesn’t deserve the hype.. he inherited the powerhouse Yzerman built, didn’t prove anything
Yzerman best gm in the NHL
Bergevin higher for sure
Wilson 2nd in his division behind McCrimmon.. really unperformed but key players were injured for a while as well (need a few rebounds though)
Benning higher
Bowman deserves higher for sure.. 3 cups and not chickening out of a rebuilt when they can’t compete

he may have overpaid for Kap sure, but he still added a top 6 winger who has speed. Every other trade has been a good move for pit. He had little leverage with murray, he finally bought out JJ and fixed that mistake, got way faster with Matheson for Hornqvist swap, and added some good cheap depth pieces in Erod and Jano. The Ceci signing was pointless but i am fairly confident he wont finish the season for us. You are clearly just jealous of Rutherford/ the penguins success if you seriously rate him as one of the worst GM's in the league. even impartial fans will tell you that is just completely untrue

You’re counting Matheson Hornqvist as a positive move? I....

So, Yzerman isn't a good GM because he gave Stammer 8mil? Got it.

time will tell, but I think pens did much better than what everyone is saying. Matheson in a sheltered role like Schultz, could do very well in pittsburgh. hes overpaid, but he has all the tools to fit well into our top 6 due to his great speed and his ability to move the puck. Hornqvist was past his expiry date. After losing to the habs we needed to get younger and faster. This trade accomplished that.

hasnt rob blake been good? Also mad disrespect to bill zito. Bill Guerin straight up FLEECED the preds at the draft to get a great C in bonino and also getting the pick they used to pick Marat Khusnutdinov (hes rated too low).

Tbh Gorton didn't show that he's a good GM yet, he had incredible luck.
