Description

We need a sniper, one with something to prove on a cheap contract would be ideal. What is everyone's thoughts on resigning Sherbak to a 1 year 700k deal? He did an interview recently taking all of the blame for his failure to make the Canadiens. He said it was 100% his fault he could not unseat someone on the roster and he loved his time with the Habs. At 26 he is still young enough that he could absolutely hit his stride on a prove it deal and if not we didn't spend much to take the chance. He currently is not under contract with any team anywhere. He lives with his GF in Montreal and his agent is in talks with some GM's about a possible return to the NHL.

I saw that interview and honestly I wouldn't mind a two-way, league minimum contract but nothing more.

That was exactly what I was thinking. Imagine if he does breakout our lineup could be complete. He seems to hold the Habs in great regard even after being waived by the team.

Hudon and Duclair have not been through what Sherbak has and Sherbak has more talent then the pair of them put together.

I mean adversity is great and all and definitely builds character. Talent wise Scherbak doesnt touch either of them though, if he did he never would have had to go back to the KHL

He doesn't suck, sure he did not work out the first time but he is talented and seems to understand that the onus is on himself for things not working out the first time.

I wouldn't mind. I always thought Scherbak had a lot of potential. If he can take a spot in the bottom-six and make a more expensive player expendable, that would help to give us some cap flexibility.
