Why is this guy still getting contracts? Looks like Ottawa is still trynna find their new Chris Neil since Chris Neil's retirement. McCormick, Sabourin, Watson and now that dinosaur.

It's 700k guys, calm down... Ottawa's not going for a deep run and he's a decent grit player. Not really NHL caliber but it is Ottawa.

As long as he plays on the 4th line for their AHL team, it's okay. But Sabourin stayed in the NHL during the entire past season so who knows with Ottawa

I'm fine with him as a vet/ baby sitter in Belleville. He's not much of a player, but he'll be a worthwhile mentor for some of the depth prospects like Parker Kelly and Mark Kastelic.

As far as him playing in the NHL, I can't see how it makes any sense. They tried the same thing last year with Scott Sabourin, and it basically left them without a functional 4th line because they didn't trust Sabourin for more than 7 minutes a game. It's why they had guys like Connor Brown playing 20 minutes a night, which is ridiculous.

I still think they need to add a Center who can play on the 1st or 2nd line in Belleville. They're losing a lot of scoring, and they need to do a better job of supplementing the talent that will be left behind than Michael Haley, Matt Peca and Logan Shaw.

He’s a great teammate and tough as they come. Glad he’s still getting contracts.

Hey the grinder himself is back in the NHL. Great signing Ottawa if you wanted more face-punchers

Gudbranson, Watson, Brown, Tkachuk, and now Haley... Is Don Cherry with Senators now? Retro logo, Canada's capital, banging and the crashing, and a whole bunch of good ole Ontario boys.

His goal last season for the Rangers was the team's greatest high light reel goal of the year.

Love that signing maybe not the best player in the world but surely an NHL capable player. Fit perfectly the 13th forward role in wich he'll play some tough game and bring some grit to this kid lineup that the sens are.

Michael Haley, the last guy to have more than 20 fights in a season,
Will someone else hit that again, probably not

So Congratulations Michael Haley, u own the record for being the last nhl player to have 20 or more fights

Considering the amount of talent left in FA, I'd rather have an open roster spot than this guy.

Nic Deslauriers was close last season, with 14. Not sure if he'd get 6 more if they finished the season.

He’s absolutely not an NHL capable player. The only thing he does is get a minor penalty every 3.6 games, and get in a bunch of fights. Also the Sens already have big, physical Gudbranson & big, physical domestic abuser Watson.

Withouth these hockey would be soooo boring. That's one of the reasons I'm slowly getting away from hockey. Tired of watching dwarves going fast like little chicken night over night...

I don’t love enforcers but they do still have a small place in the game. Ryan Reaves is basically an enforcer, if he didn’t fight he wouldn’t have an NHL contract. Period.

I mean we already have Paul and Watson for the 4th line and Brown and Gudbranson for further face-punching, so he’s just gonna go the AHL. He’ll likely only get called up if both Watson and Paul are both hurt or something, he can protect the kids in Belleville and maybe teach Kastelic a thing or two about dropping the mitts, I’m hoping he becomes a gritty 4C for us eventually. League minimum so it doesn’t really matter, fills an AHL roster spot.
