I think Vegas is trying to win now, so Rielly with a slightly lower cap hit for less term would help them in the longer term, rather than Theodore who has basically the same cap hit for another 5 years. I just think this is good for both teams.
How does trading a cost controlled excellent Dman for a marginally worse one on an expiring contract help them long term? 200k isn’t that big of a difference and they’d end up screwing themselves in the long run. Again, in 2 years Reilly is going to make a lot more than $5.2M... which is why you want to trade him in the first place right??
