Montreal rejects sure Paquette is better but that’s putting us more over the cap and we don’t need a 4c

Teams could have taken Johnson for free and didn’t so it seems he has negative value

Nobody is trading a 2nd rounder for Johnson. NOBODY. The Lightning placed him on waivers and nobody was interested.

Tampa has to either retain salary or add a sweetener (or both).

My thought is Tbay will have one of their RFA sit the whole season out. And pray that the cap goes up and/or the Kraken select one of the overpaid middle 6 forwards.

If teams were smart(which they aren't) they would offer sheets them

Why would Nashville have any interest in Tyler Johnson who's making 4 years $20 million? When they just boughtout Kyle Turris who was making 4 years $24 million, Pretty much puts then right back in the same boat. And i don't see Alex Killorn having any interest in the New Jersey Devils what so ever.

Who says they haven't, Maybe they refused to sign them. Generally you wont know if a player refuses to sign an offer sheet.

Correct, I'm pretty sure Marner's agent received offer sheets but Mitch said no, so his agent bargained the bloated contract which Mitch signed because of those other offers being on the table.

True but as much as they like Tampa not many players would run down what I assume is 5-7 million dollar contra it's when their current team at best can offer 3.5. And typically you get roasted by other GMs

First thought: Your counting acumen needs work.

Second thought: You are overly optimistic with return expectations.

No one that is good enough to not be giving up a potential lottery pick has the cap space though.

they could've done it earlier but they're too.afraid to be aggressive on offer sheets.

Please tell me a team. And no one did it, because they obviously care more about locking up their own players to contracts. And anyone that added UFAs obviously liked them more because they might cost less $, and don’t cost any assets to acquire.

It happens every year though, you could sign cirelli or sergachev at 6.5 annually for a first and third. Realistically any team.should consider this because outside the first overall.pick, maybe 2nd/3rd depending on the draft you're not going to find better players than sergachev or cirelli and they're still plenty young.
