Description
We've heard about Nalimov in the past and how he isn't coming to the NHL to be a backup. Well, here's his chance. I'm surprised there's not more news on this/the hawks aren't looking into this more. The hawks have a wide open goalie battle this season. Why not bring in Nalimov? This puts them at 50 contracts, but for one year why not? If he pans out, protect him in expansion, if he doesn't, let him go. It doesn't hurt in my opinion.

I'm not sure Strome is still on this team come season start, but for the sake of keeping this simple I made him 2C and moved Dach to the wing.

I’ve been wondering for a while why we aren’t bringing him over. It’s a no brainer given the hawks goalie situation.

I have been hoping we trade Strome. When Wallmark was signed I thought he was good as gone. Strome may play one more season with the hawks. I just don’t see him in the future plans.

I agree, I just kept Strome for simplicity of the post. I think he gets moved at some point. Problem is a logjam of D and forwards, what's the return going to be?

Maybe not as high as we hoped but he still has good value. Last season and playoffs weren’t the best, maybe hold onto him to see if his value picks up. If you can sign him to a low AAV, he can get a good return. Mixed with taking a little cap back and the return will be great. I’m not surprised his deal isn’t done yet. Bowman is waiting to use the cap space left. Try to leverage something from these teams in cap trouble.

Namilov was a backup in the KHL the year before this last season. He signed a professional tryout for the Icehogs but that was in March. Namilov would need to prove himself in the AHL obviously before getting a shot. Right not the 3 are better then him until he proves otherwise in Rockford.

Hard to imagine Subban and Delia are that much better than him at this point. It doesn't hurt giving him a one year deal to see what he has. He's played pretty well for a pretty bad Sochi team.
