If I'm Ottawa I take that deal for sure, but Cogliano wouldn't waive anyway, so...

There is literally no way on God's green earth that the Flyers would EVER even contemplate that trade, and if they even considered it the city of Philadelphia would legit riot.

I mean, he's the first good franchise goalie that they've had since, what, the nineties? and you think they're going to give him up? Nah, bro, nah. Not happening.

A winger that scores 3 goals in 68 games is not a 3rd liner

This is the Cogliano reality

NSH declines. That doesn't get you their best forward prospect.

That's a steep price to move Neal and acquire Bishop. Oilers look at that Philly trade and make a competitive offer for Hart if he's available

I mean obviously not but in this scenario it's implied he is so instead of trading for Bishop, pay the price for Hart who obviously a better long term solution.

Radulov isn't coming back to Nashville... especially not for our best prospect.

- Stars don't even contemplate that Toronto deal
- Not a good enough package for Tomasino
- Highly doubt Edmonton trades for an injury prone goalie the year after they sign Koskinen to a multi-year deal
- Ottawa takes the deal (but Cogliano is a fringe NHL player, not a top-9 option)
- Philadelphia....yeah, no they don't do that
- San Jose, sure...I guess

San Jose can't afford that and are in something of a rebuild - highly unlikely that they make that deal.

I get that. My comment on the Sharks deal was really made more about the value of the deal. Given the NHL's current cap situation, I really don't think Dallas is going to be able to move Comeau (or Cogliano) without paying someone to take those contracts.

Fair enough and yes, your overall point is absolutely accurate.
