If the Flames wanted Vatanen, they likely would have signed him instead of Tanev.

Ryan is basically a cap dump in this market. You’d have to add to move him

I know but I really like Vatanen's game, and Brassard will solidify our depth listen, Brassard was a 20 goal scorer 2 years ago and he had a way better season than Ryan. Ryan is better the Brassard on the PK but if Brassard agrees to a 1-year 850k deal that would be an absolute steal for the Flames.

That's the issue though, Calgary took a major blow in their PK depth over the last season. Loosing Ryan would be horrible

I think 3.1M to have one of the better penalty kills in the league is totally worth it
