actually the value of this trade is pretty good, can leafs fans quit overrating Nylander please

Have you seen Leafs fans? “overrating Nylander” but trading him one for one with Pesce?

I would prefer Barkov on my team. but let’s be rational.
The difference between the two IS NOT that big. not to mention Barkov needs a big raise in two years and he’d be going from no tax Florida to high tax Toronto, therefore meaning he would most likely want more money.
Leafs also have two elite centres already and have no desire or need to move one to the wing. Also no need to trade guys who are future top 4 d and a potential second line guy, with the right development.

Would you trade Boeser, Podkilzin, Woo, a 1st and a 2nd for Barkov?

Or Landeskog, Bowers, Timmins and a 1st?

What about Tkachuk, Brannstrom, Norris and a 2nd?

Probably not. So why is this package different?

I said the value of this trade is good. Cause in a vacuum it is. Obviously positionally it doesn’t make sense for either team. Barkov is worth way more than Willy, and this trade accounts for that. Doesn’t make sense for either team tho

Barkov is better and I don’t think anyone is arguing otherwise. However he has less term and leafs are not adding a first, a second, lilegren and Robertson. That’s basically nylander and 3 firsts, it’s too much. Take out Robertson and I would do it.
