the thing with all these "trade one big piece to round out the entire team" trades are that they look great on paper, and hey, the leafs would be a lot better - but look at it from the other team's perspective. Why would they trade a good, dependable player from every position to acquire one forward?
Like imagine the leafs trading Muzzin, Andersen, Kerfoot, and Sandin for Evgeni Malkin. Ok, yes, Malkin is a top 10 centre, the guy is a beast, but are we ACTUALLY better?
