Created by: Sidstick87
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 13, 2020
Published: Nov. 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
____________________________________________

*** I know I have - [24] - ROSTER PLAYERS :
REAL CAP SPACE w/ [23] - ROSTER PLAYERS - would be around - [$1.25m - $1m]
AFTER.......
- 4th Line LW & #13 #14 Forward Battle of : Martin / Jankowski / E-Rod / Lafferty
_______________________________________________________________________________________

**** [UFA] - Signings :

~ L/RW/C- M. GRANLUND #64 ---- 1yr @ $2.75m ~ Jason Zucker gets his former teammate for 5+ yrs in MIN to sign a 1yr Deal. PLUS- Always thought he'd be a perfect wing for #87.

~ LW- M. MARTIN #15 ---- 1yr @ $750,k ~~~~~~~~ This team is insanely SOFT, Need at least 1 player that doesn't get beat up, bullied, pushed around, & that will actually make contact w/ the other team.

~ LHD- M. MUELLER #25 ---- 1yr @ $725,k ~~~~~~ The more Depth, the better - maybe he makes the Roster as a #8 or maybe sneak him into WBS.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

** LINES & PAIRINGS ** "Break-dahn"

LINE 1A : 59 - 87 - 64 ~~~~ Everyone knows that Jake & Sid will always be together but IMO- Granlund is a 100 times more skilled Dom Simon clone & Sid would love him on his RW.
LINE 1B : 16 - 71 - 42 ~~~~ Zucker & Geno will be great together & Now adding the young legs & speed of Kappy could make a Perfect line.
LINE 3A : 19 - 25 - 17 ~~~~ Rusty leads the 3rd line w/ the young 3C- Roslovic #25 (who I think is a natural Center) & the much better at LW- McCan-Can.
LINE 3B : 13 - 53 - 15/14/37/9 ~ The Duo of Blueger & Tanev + either of Martin #15 / Jankowski / E-Rod / Lafferty will be a great 4th line.

PAIR #1 : 8 - 58 ~~~~~ Will be 1 of the Best Top pairings in NHL again.
PAIR 2A : 28 - 6 ~~~~~ Both of these players are about to make the leap to Elite players.
PAIR 2B : 5 - 4 ~~~~~~ IMO, both of these players are going to shock fans w/ how good Mathy & CC will be.

GOALIE 1A : 35 ~~~ Jarry becomes a Legit #1 Goalie
GOALIE 1B : 31 ~~~ I'd love the young Goalie Tandem of Jarry & Hill

** All Players on LTIR Could possibly see time w/ Pens during season : Call-Ups from WBS.

PIT
  1. Comrie, Eric
  2. Roslovic, Jack [RFA Rights]
  3. Stanley, Logan
Additional Details:
*[PIT] gets a young former late 1st Rdr, I have liked since draft yr & IMO is a 3C , future 3C, or at worst is a Top-9 RWer in Roslovic who could use a change to Boost his play.
- Comrie - a solid younger Goalie who we could possibly lose by sneaking into AHL but worth a shot.
- Stanley - is Ginormous LHD-man & former 1st Rdr that appears to be a bust & maybe a change & less pressure helps him.
WPG
  1. Aston-Reese, Zach
  2. Czuczman, Kevin
  3. Riikola, Juuso
Additional Details:
*[WPG] gets a the best analytical Defensive Forward, a good bottom 6 guy, & great PKer in ZAR.
- Riikola - a LHD who is just as good on his Right side, had a strong 1st yr in NHL, & is at least a bottom pairing rite now.
- Czucman is a vet depth #7 - #8 LHD & his name is pronounced - Church-man (I still dont kno how tho, lol)
3.
PIT
  1. Hill, Adin
Additional Details:
*[PIT] gets my favorite younger NHL Goalie, who is Matt Murray Jr. w/ a better Glove hand. IMO, HILL would absolutely be a much better 1B Goalie & move DeSmith back to where he belongs as a very good #3.
ARI
  1. Comrie, Eric
Additional Details:
*[ARZ] Is going to 100% lose Hill when they waive him & have a better chance of having COMRIE clear waivers. + they have interest in him.
4.
PIT
  1. 2021 6th round pick (LAK)
LAK

Kings don't need any of those players, Frk has had great chemistry with Vilardi and the bottom six has more than enough options.

I think you have the right idea here except the Jets would decline that trade. They want Pettersson from us.

@Sidstick87 I like the team you assembled. No glaring weaknesses. Although I think Roslovic gets more like 1.75-2.5 Million.

It’s debatable that Roslovic is better than Jankowski. Jankowski definitely better defensively and on the PK. If we make a move on 3C I would like it to be a bigger upgrade.

I would be pumped if they can get Granlund but I would try and start him as 3C and if that doesn`t work move him to Sid or Genos wing and make a midseason trade for 3C

I'd ask for a lot more than Roslovic then if they want Pettersson.

But I do like Roslovic a ton tho.

Thank You, I also think if it was a normal yr Roslovic would get $1.75 - $2.5 for 1 or 2yrs but everyone has been getting low balled.

I watched Jankowski in Playoffs and he was so bad at 4C he got replaced by M. Lucic, Yes that M. Lucic.

Jankowski at best is a 4th line LW and a #13 / #14 Forward on a Playoff type team.

So did I. The whole Calgary team was bad. Good thing you’re not the GM or coach. Cause both JR and Sully see him as a 3rd line Center. And he was Replaced by Dereck Ryan last year in the play-offs. He’s a Center!!

And I’m excited to see what Jankowski does with the Pens and as our 3rd line Center. Most Pens fans are sleeping on him, IMO. Both JR and Sully are happy opening the season with him being our 3rd line Center too.

Janko is 26, 1st round pedigree, proven good two-way center and top PK player. He had 17 goals and 25 points his 1st year and 14 goals and 32 points his 2nd. Yes, last year he sh*t the bed. But it’s an easy year to write off IMO(for everyone..lol) and look at Sam Bennet’s stats. And look at last year compared to his first 3 or 4. It wasn’t just Janko last year. It was the whole Calgary team. Look at even Monahan and C.Tierney stats. But look at Bennett’s and Janko’s and you will see, it was the whole team.

Imagine if last year, he improved or just stayed the same statistically. He would’ve been a sought after free agent. The narrative would be completely different. A recent 1st round pick, coming off his E-L contract and 1st team, has had 3 decent years, ready for his 4th year and break-out year. Now, it’s a “show me” contract. Show-me last year wasn’t a fluke and you can get back to producing like your 1st two years. And maybe Calgary just mis used him. It’s only his 4th year, only 26 and Pens are his 2nd team.

I wish I had the faith u did in Janko but he was replaced by Lucic as 4th line Center after the 3rd or 4th playoff game, then only played 6 min of TOI the 5th playoff game and then was Healthy scratched for the next 5 Playoff games for Zac Rinaldo.

So he was replaced by Lucic as a Center by a LWer then replaced in the line-up by an AHLer.... LMAO

BTW- C. Tierney plays for Ottawa

Yes, so does Sam Bennet. And Look at his stats last year. Janko was their 4th line C. Then was a healthy scratch, replaced by D.Ryan. I watched the games too. The whole Calgary team was awful. Johnny G went from 99 points to like 50 something. Just look at Sam Bennett stats. And look at Janko’s. And compare. You’ll see it wasn’t all his fault.
