Or..... they could let matthews, marner and nylander get to their primes, call up some of their prospects and the destroy the league.
Pageau has a terrible contract, makes no sense for the Leafs
So by get to their primes, do u mean when their contracts expire in a few years because they didn’t sign them for 7-8 years so they have to give them an even bigger raise, and then have Tavares declining and needing to spend money on Rielly and Sandin? Yeah this is going to be fabulous lol

I believe their primes start at 24 and run through 30, so sort of I guess , but you'd have the same situation here with Pesce and Pageau (who has a horrendous contract)

Pesce and Pageau were a joke but it would be an issue with the way they’re currently constructed.

Cap is an issue for every team that's competitive these days, we'll see how this season goes then it's figure out Goaltending and Hyman who should be given about 3 a year at 7/8 years
Carolina is 2-1 in playoff series' with Pesce
and he was a big part of it
what's Toronto's playoff record since the salary cap? 0-5? 0-6?
i was more referring to the fact that carolina has 3 playoff misses, a conference finals sweep and a first round exit in 5 games since pesce joined the team. not exactly blistering playoff success
I found it ironic that a 26 year old with 15 playoff games to his name (8-7 record) is "the only way for toronto to win a cup"

I think Carolina’s issues are more with scoring outside of their 1st line. Their defence has been solid and even their goaltending but they could use an upgrade at goal

just saying ...
toronto's record vs. boston in the playoffs: 6-8
carolinas record vs. boston in the playoffs: 1-8
