Rangers decline both deals...., And you can add about a mil to the Buch/Igor/Chytil contracts and lose the Martinez signing.

Toews half retained gets atleast 1 of your best prospects and a first.

He's been playing great. Had a career year in 2019 and was on pace for another really good season last year. And in the playoffs he stepped up his play and was a point per game. Yeah he had a couple down years but he's had 2 good years since then

idk why I keep seeing this take on salaries as though we're not living through a flat cap, at least for the next 2 seasons. Matt Murray, the guy that won back to back Stanley Cups, didn't get anywhere near that kind of money in his first non ELC contract despite the cups and the non-flat cap. Why on earth would we pay a kid goalie that kind of money even if he stands on his head all season an wins us the cup. Look at Binnington. It's insane to think that he's going to make above 4, assuming he has an immaculate season next year.

Chytil is a 25 point player right now, they let Fast go because he wanted 3y at 2m. If Fil gets 2.5m, unless he's taken a massive step up, he should be thankful.

Buch gets a little more, chytl gets more and lindgren gets a lot more than 6x2mil.
