If you're going to be trading Buch anyway, let's get him to the Blues. I'd much rather give up Barbashev+ for Buchnevich instead of the stuff you're giving us for Barbashev (as much as I like Gauthier)

We are talking a really solid 4th liner for a top line winger. That "+" is needs to be substantiated.

I'd be willing to throw in another pick but Buch for Barb is just a lopsided deal value wise.

Yeah he’s filthy, kinda reminds me of a more developed Khusnutdinov from this year with a lot more offensive oomf. Really caught my eye at the u18 5-nations last year

I mean of course the Blues add in that scenario that would be crazy otherwise. I'm just saying because someone balked at a first for Buch, I'd give you the first and Barbashev for him. And I'd be interested in what else I could give you to pry away one of Lundkvist or Schneider as well

Why would we trade Lundkvist or Schneider?

That deal is okay. we'd need to do something around a Bottom 6 F to make it work tho.

I just have a tough time seeing where both of them fit on this team. One of them maybe, you've got Lundkvist here. But I mean Fox just had an elite season, I would have had him over Kubalik in the Calder race. Trouba is just signed into oblivion with a full NMC, so he's not going anywhere. And then you've got DeAngelo. I think DeAngelo will eventually go unless he becomes a permanent lefty, but either way there's only room for one of the young guys long-term and he's on the third pair. So I was thinking it might make sense to trade one for assets who will have more opportunity

Not really. More so appropriating Buchnevich's value.

Im still not sold on Chytil being a bonafide 2C. Yes, I know, hes still only 20 years old however theres just things about his game that irk me, especially because hes a center. His vision, his strength on the puck, his defensive misgivings, his deficiency in the dot.

Yeah but do you have any Center prospects or NHLers that would entice us? That's all we'd entertain in a trade imo.

Yeah probably not, unless you can convince Schenn to waive his NTC.

Man I wish I knew. I live in crippling fear that I'm going to wake up one morning and he'll be traded. I think it's inevitable at this point, we've got Krug into oblivion, we've got Scandella just signed, we've got Perunovich coming up. Doug Armstrong famously doesn't get along with Newport Sports (Dunn's agency and hm, Alex Pietrangelo's agency) and Blues management has sheltered him pretty good throughout his time here, which doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me that they view him highly. Which suuuuuuucks because he's so good. He might survive this offseason but it'll be a bridge deal and then I think he'll be dangled if Perunovich is ready next year.

When was the last time Eklund played center though? He didn’t last year and hasn’t this year as far as what I’ve seen. He’s looking too 10 for sure and I doubt NYR will be top 10 pick next year.
