    First. Gourde still has value
Second. Semyon what-now and Kirill Tyutyayayayayaya are people no one has heard of since their drafts

while i do agree he has value still, teams will see we are still in a cap crunch so we take some Russians not under contract and save the money for the RFAs

Nashville boughtout Turris, And Gourde has one year more and a few thousand less. Noway is Nashville taking on Gourde. And to move Johnson's contract would cost far more then this. So both Detroit and Nashville decline.

He has but he's still overpaid and TBL doesn't have any leverage.

So why does Gourde waive his NTC? His on ice value isn't that much, especially in a cap strap league.

Did you not watch him in the playoffs??? He’s a very good player who is a little overpaid. A team would definitely take him for free

9 teams already over the cap.
Another 13 don't have enough cap room to fit a 5 mil player.
    of the 9 remaining teams.
3 of them won't have the cap space when they sign their RFAs.

You are down to 6 teams.
FL, DET, OTT, NSH, LAK, NJ.

    Now look at those teams.
OTT has no need for another forward. down to 5.
DET, NJ and LAK are pure rebuild stage, they aren't taking a player unless they are getting assets of use back. aka 1st round picks. They have no need for anything these players offer and the length of their contracts just doesn't fit well. down to 2
FL who knows what is going on there, are they rebuilding or what?
and NSH Who probably ends up with Hoffman.
You got basically two choices. You either package a 1st and probably more to move someone to the 3 rebuilds. Or you pay up something for NSH or FL to take a guy.
I honestly don't think anyone is taking anything for free.

TB most likely is dishing out league min deals to those 3 guys. 1 year tenders, and gonna struggle to figure it out next year.

No he does not. He is Andreas Johnson making nearly 2m more and Tampa missed their window to move him.

Tampa will not escape this offseason with the their first round pick, possibly not even their 2022 first as well. Unless they plan on letting Cirelli and segachev sit out the season.

I really don't think Johnson waives for Detroit. You could have Johnson be your sacrifice to Seattle and I do think he would waive for Seattle before he'd waive for Detroit.

Why would gourde, johnson or coburn waive their ntc. And if youre going to get 4 years each youre going to have to give more to cirrelli and for sure sergachev.

Kirill Tyutyayev has potential to be a late round gem. It would not be very wise to dump him. He dominated Russian Junior leagues and is a point per game player in mens leagues in Belarus right now at 20 years old. He has no "must sign by" date so the Wings can keep his rights literally forever. Lets see where he's at in 2-3 years. He could turn out to be another Datsyuk like steal. Keeping him is zero risk, with loads of potential for reward. When Datsyuk was drafted he was just another undersized Russian with a funny name too.

Thanks for the info. Datsyuk worked his ass off and like Holmstrom he had a chip on his shoulder from people he wasn't good enough to play at the next level. He was 20 when he was drafted.
