I don't see Calgary's motivation here. Why would they make that trade?

WPG says no...This is the only year that we may need a LD...come next year, our two young LD will be for sure ready to play.

Calgary doesn’t need another playmaker and we aren’t giving up a young 1RD on a good contract plus our only impactful ELC player to get one

Yes, he is good.

I think that the Leafs have made it pretty clear that they have ZERO desire to trade MM.

On the flip side, I just don't see the Flames adding 11 million dollars in salary to their team whilst only removing about 5.5 million.

Its a trade that would never happen anyways so, I suppose it doesn't really matter.
