Yeah, and CBJ doesn't want to move on from Jones for an overpriced winger who relies on having superstar players around him for his success.

Nothing to Columbus but agents around the league are speculating that Marner could be dealt within the next year according to a poll done by Lebrun (Athletic). They all seem to think that Toronto can’t be competitive with 4 big salaries

Nylander for Jones is technically not fair for CBJ, but its the most i would give to get Jones tbh, Jones is overrated

Lol they got their own young, cheaper stars they would rather spend that money on. Enjoy filling the rest of your team when damn near 1/2 your cap is tied up in 4 players

This is a good trade as long as Leafs add a pick or two, Leafs also get cap space for a couple years and easily top ten RIGHTY Dman. I’m sure everyone will be up in arms over it and especially from Toronas side. News flash!!!!Marner is not generational he is NOT top ten player or even top twenty in the league. ALTHOUGH in leaf land they seem to think he’s top five ffs...very good two way player and a hell of a passer but I could easily name twenty better players . You can’t say the same about Jones he’s top ten .

I agree, and even player compared to player, I would wager that Marner is a better/more valuable winger than Jones is as a defenseman.
