Rangers and almost all teams don't have the cap to take an additional cap hit. Can't see captain Stamkos waiving his NMC and maybe McDonagh doesn't waive his NTC. Johnson 5m X 4 years is still likely too big a cap hit for Jersey to consider. Just spend 5m better than Johnson.

Rangers are in no position to take on $15 million in cap, Seeing that Fox, Kakko and Lafreniere will need big contracts in 2 to 4 more years.

Puts Rangers up against the cap with no cushion for bonuses. They're gonna gain 8M in cap next season from buyouts but they'll have alot of RFAs to sign next season. Would be a big risk on their part. They also get older but they have alot of young players.... idk.
