no team is picking up these guys on waivers. Just like they didn't do TJ.
They aren't worth the cap hits. Gourde isn't worth 5.1 million for 5 years. Palat isn't worth 5.3, he's hasn't even been a 20 goal scorer for the last 6 seasons. 20 goal guys make 3-3.5...why the hell would they pay 5.3 for one?
Paquette is a 4th liner. No one is trading for that.
Coburn is done. he's gonna be 36 with declining play and battling injuries at 35+ isn't helping.
Even at one year, a team would need defensive help before running out to get him and he's have to waive....which isn't gonna happen.
He's probably the most moveable piece there. But even that's unrealistic.

Dumping them in the AHL doesn't solve their problems. it saves what1 million in cap. That isn't going to do it which is why it won't happen.

Teams aren't taking these deals without TB paying and probably retaining. You might be able to move Palat at 3.5, if teams are willing to over look the injuries the last 3 years.
But with a hand full of teams able to afford that cap hit, most of them probably unwilling to take it without getting something, good luck.

Just wanted to reinforce this one point: sending one of these guys to the AHL saves $1.075M per year, but since TBL can't ice an 18-man roster you have to factor in his replacement. Even if they find an adequate replacement for league minimum ($700,000), the maximum saved by sending these veterans to the AHL is just $375,000 per player. It's nothing in the context of being ~$10M short on the cap...

Yeah but most Tampa Fans believe there is an easy way out of their mess. But when you 9-11 Mil cap space to sign 3 top shelf RFA's and basically all the expensive contracts have trade protection there is no EASY way out.

I guess their was an easy way out🤷‍♂️
