This is one of the last teams that should be considering offering Hoffman a contract

Seems a reasonable price but why would Hoffman sign in Anaheim?

It would only make sense on a one year deal. Hoffman becomes ANAs 1st line RW and top PP option and can maintain his value going into next season to get a long term contract. And for ANA Bob Murray seems set on “competing” so it makes sense there too, now whether that’s smart or not is an entirely different conversation

His situation would be a lot in Anaheim than Halls in Buffalo. With the Sabres Hall signed as the 2nd best player on the team and a team trying to exit rebuild now. In ANA Hoffman would be signing as the #1 PP guy, but I think he is better off doing a 1 year deal with a more competitive team to avoid his value dropping like Barrie's did. Hoffman is coming from one of the highest scoring teams in the league, going to one of the lowest is going to drastically hurt his value. Especially if Florida still continues to be a high scoring team.

True, that’s a very good perspective. 100% agree he’s better off going almost anywhere else but I do see some sense in him to ANA.

Oh of course, if but I think Anaheim would rather stay under the cap including Kesler, that way they can take on cap at the deadline thats attached to futures

I got the sense from BMs interviews that he would like to improve his forward grp. He'd probably prefer to do it by trade but I'm not sure whos out there that I could actually see BM paying for.

You’re over exaggerating his value drop. He’s still score ~30 g in ANA. Gets and Steel can still dish it. He’d get his ~10 g on the PP. He makes a ton of sense for ANA based on GMBM wanting to compete for a playoff spot and getting top line minutes and focal point of the PP makes sense for Hoffman. The only thing that might not make sense would be money depending on how much actual cash the ducks wanna spend this season.
