Islanders match
Flyers decline...Jenner is a nice player, but Harrington is a career 5-7 dman, Grigerenko and Nash are bottom 6 forwards

Columbus barely has enough for Pierre Luc-Dubois let alone offer sheeting Matt Barzal.

Columbus takes all the risk in this trade and either comes out even, or loses this trade badly
Ottawa either wins or comes out even

It's a bad offer for Columbus to make, and Ottawa would happily take your 3rd for an unknown difference in 2nds.

Pick for pick trades are done at the draft, when you're targeting a specific player. It's done spur of the moment.

Can’t help but assume gms agreed upon no oversheets while the cap stays flat. Never has a team been soo at risk as Tampa is now and there isn’t even rumours of it happening there so I’d assume islanders are safe to take their time and work something out with barzal.

He had to make that pick for pick trade for the offersheet.

Match it and worry about the cap afterwards. Cant let a franchise C go to a rival. Especially, when the compensation is draft picks and he only makes Philly better

Thats the issue i dont know hes a franchise player yet. Hes a great player and has the potential to become that franchise player but he doesnt score.

I hear what you're saying. Tough to pay a guy for potential. If that's the case I would rather deal him and get actual players back then future picks.

For sure but the island would go crazy if they dealt barzal. Also the potential is worth more than youll get from a trade. We need to finally get an elite winger who scores.

Cap isnt the main issue directly. Its paying 11mil for potential.
