It's VERY bad. Sorry.

2x3rd line, 2x4th line, good deep Dcore without elite talent, horrible old goaltending.

If I was you, I would cheer for some real thanking.

I mean tbh they’re just missing a legit #1C. Easier said then done obviously, but even if you threw a player like kuznetsov on that team they’d be a lot better.

This is a bubble playoff team. Bonino/Johansson/(Rossi?)/Bjugstad/Sturm is better than Staal/Galchenyuk/Koivu down the middle. Fiala is a legitimate first line player who 's capable of hitting point per game if he's not carrying the load by himself. The addition of Kaprizov is a wildcard but he's a top 6 player as well. The defense is one of the best in the league, especially if you put Soucy on the left where he belongs. This is an improved team over last season and they were well on their way to taking a playoff spot before the season was cut short.

It's funny, you look at a team like Vancouver or Nashville and think "easy playoff team, maybe even contender" because they have sexier names on paper. This Minnesota team was just as effective as either of them last season. That's why games are played on ice, not paper.

How do you call a center line better then awful? Just bad?

Fiala is a 2 time 20 goal scorer. Kaprisov never played an NHL game. That's it. That's the whole offence right there. I would bring up Zucc, but he’s probably injured again.

Also, I understand you didnt want to bring up the dead meat between the pipes.

This team could use a 1C, two *** 6 wingers, and a goalie upgrade. If they do make a bubble spot, it's probably another 1st round exit. Minnesota doing Minnesota things.

I mean sure, Fiala and Kaprizov are the entire offense if you ignore Parise's 25 goals last year. No reason to believe he won't put up 25-30 again this year assuming an 82 game season is played.

Another analytic cult member here I see.

Sadly stats graphs cant score goals... Might be why they finished 6th in the Central division.

No, it was because our goaltending was abysmal. If we had anywhere close to league average goalies last year, we would have easily slotted right around 3rd in the the division.

How? He put up better numbers than our goalies despite playing behind a worse defense in Calgary. We consistently give up the least (or very close to the least) high danger chances per game every season. Any middle of the road starter for another team should look like a superstar here. Unless you just have some sort of hate boner for this team and/or Talbot, nobody in their right mind should think that he isn't a significant upgrade to arguably the weakest part of this team last season.

It's going to be Talbot's 4th team in 3 years. You must be right, and all those teams must be wrong. He is so good, because he is an improvment over Dubnyk 🙄

But anyway, MIN will still have the 2nd worst goalie tandem in the Division (bottom 5 in the league).

I came back to appologize.

Huge season for Talbot and Eriksson Ek. And of course Kaprizov and Kahkonen delivered over expectations.

Good luck against Vegas. A first round against Colorado would have been awesome though...
