I can’t think of a team that needs Justin Holl less than the Buffalo Sabres.

That deadline deal would be more shocking than Hall signing a 1 yr deal with the Sabres.

Not really sure teams moving top players at the deadline are super interested in 28 yo 4th/5th dmen with 1.5 yrs of NHL experience being the main piece coming back.

I'm going out on a limb here, and predicting they get better offers than that.

I dont think the eating half is a huge deal here, if we are dead in the water, maximizing the return would be the most important thing, and since absolutely nobody has cap space, i think you do what you have to. I suspect that theres a better offer than that though, plus, ya know, if the covid sugar show doesnt turn around, hall may have to quarantine for two weeks just to get to play in canada. Having said all that, you can keep holl.

ah yes, gutting the depth to add to a strength. A wonderful thing to do before the playoffs.
Also, LOL at Bogo on the top pairing.

If the Sabres are in a position to move Hall theyd definitely retain 50%, but theyd also get a hell of a lot better offers, this is pretty pathetic

I wouldn't say 0% especially if they are in different divisions. If the Leafs were to offer up say Robertson and a first or another higher end young player (Sandin or Liljegren) then you definitely have to consider. I don't think the Leafs would do that especially knowing they would not have the cap to resign him and he is strictly a rental.

they have no need for more d prospects unless theyre a franchise player, i dont think Toronto has enough quality foward prospects to add, Robertson is a good start, the first is meh - probably 20+
