Description
Monahan Trade.
Mony can score and I appreciate that, but he's crazy overrated. Bennett is our future 1C. And well, Backlund is way too good to be on our 3rd line. Minny is weak offensively and strong defensively so this trade kind of makes sense. Spurgeon is so underrated. Easily a top 20 dman. So we flip an overrated sniper for an underrated dman and a pick.

Dougie trade.
PIT wants Dougie. They also have 2 goalies. Maatta + Fleury for Dougie wouldn't work. Freddie goes with Dougie because brotherly love and we'll chip in a pick to sweeten the deal.

Shink-Janko-Hath is a great AHL line. Start Shinkaruk and Janko on line 3 with Pribyl (he's darn good, trust me) and slide Hathaway on an energy line with Ferly and Staj. Steeger as the 13th but he can play up in the lineup too.

Jokipakka is likely a Las Vegas _______ Knight. Kulak-Morrison makes a really good 3rd pair. Bring back Nak City as our 7th. Oh and those Swedish studs, yeah they can run the show down in Cali with my Italian boy Magiapane, Rittich as the starter.

Jon Gillies is a Calgary Flame. The next Ben Bishop will play behind Flower. Oh what a dynamite duo.

Bouma buried in the A. He just can't play in the NHL. T-spoon won't be re-signed, we could've had Kucherov UGH.

Like the pens trade. May want to make the pick a 2018 at the latest but its not that huge of a problem.

I do not agree with the exchange to Minnesota.
1) Spurgeon on Monaghan is an equal exchange, the second round of this overpayment. And the first is generally a robbery
2) On a draft of Minnesota extension can protect three defenders Suter, Spurgeon and Dumba. Losing someone from the pair: Scandella-Brodin. And if you give the defender the first pair, it remains only 3 good defender. And it makes no sense to give the defense

If the new GM is correct and Monahan Is overrated and therefore overpaid at 6.1m, he's going to a tough move to get true value back.
