Description
What makes a Tippet for Strome trade work for you? Interested how others would make this trade. Tippet, unproven in the NHL, Strome already a good 2nd line center, especially for the panthers. They have young centermen coming up so they may just stick with what they have and wait for the young guys to take over the spot. But they do this for the need of a to six forward. Hard for Chi town to let him go, but Tippett is a grittier player and may be something they need moving forward. Not sure he can just play with Toews off the bat, would be ideal lol. I’m not one to trust Nylander but If he can get it going that 1st line RW spot is open. If Nylander is sub par again I think they will trade him or let him walk

What do you think makes this work? FLA getting a 2nd instead of a 3rd is something I’m okay with, or just staying away form a 1st rounder. Go with a 2nd for 3rd swap.

strome isn't a 'good second line center', hes a borderline second line centre on a rebuilding team, a 3c on a contender. He's never eclipsed more than twenty goals, or 55 points in five years

He's only played 2 full NHL season, and playing for the Panther's he will be their 2nd line center till Lundell comes. Strome was a very good 2nd line center for Chicago until Dach replaced him, Anyteam thats needs a 2nd line center would go after him.

Tippet has good value so it would have to be Strome and a 3rd or Strome one for one for Tippet

I don’t like a 1 for 1 though it’s Stan Bowman. That guy will bite a bullet a diamond a jaw breaker. If he thinks it’ll work out, he’s okay with looking like he lost a trade. I respect him for that, though losing panarin like that blew me away. My option, I’m paying for the ready right now center that it only a couple years older. Though if I’m Florida, I gotta think hornqvist was brought in to show the way to Tippett. So he may be completely off the table. Yeh or neh?

Pass from Florida, they don’t need Strome. Lundell is their 2C and Tippett is a top 6 winger that has 30 goal potential (offense wasn’t the issue with him)

Quenneville didn't seem to like Strome in Chicago, doubt he'd like him in Florida. Strome may get moved, but it's not going to be an easy move. The only thing making it easier would be a smaller bridge deal. At this point, there's not a lot of teams looking for centers.

You're right, I thought he had coached him a brief time. My mistake, however I think we both know he's not a player Q would like.
