here’s your answer...jack eichel and auston matthews are virtually the same player...how far does jack eichel carry his average team? not far. that would be the same with auston and this team.

IMO this is solid, the only thing that worries me is having 2 very offense minded d-men. Replace JG with someone better at defense (Graves just to give an example) and I honestly believe they could do damage, like 2nd round.

Right now, he hasn't carried an elite offensive team past the 1st round. In 2-3 years I think he could potentially carry this team to a playoff berth.

I think this team goes to the second round. I really don't know with this team. It's like the Sabres where they are expected to be good but it goes downhill after the first month. This is either boom or bust.

16-17 Leafs team was pretty average, so I guess that'd be the gauge.

This team is actually pretty decent, solid depth and a bunch of underrated players

It’s okay, but TML’s roster isn’t just “okay”.

It's not basketball, you need help in the NHL. Even star players are only on the ice for roughly 1/3 of the game. Those are facts

I could go on about how much better Matthews is than Eichel, but ya, this is about right. This team probably goes out of the playoffs in round one.

Yeah, except one is significantly better at scoring goals and defence. Same player though

I was about to say this, so I thought it would be easier to quote this post than repeat it. This is exactly my thoughts.

they're at the same level defense wise...yes, auston matthews is a better goal scorer but jack eichel is a better playmaker

No they arnt. Matthews is much better and is, at worst an equal playmaker wise, hes probably better at that too since he doesn't rely on secondary assists nearly as much to boost his totals than jack does

I honestly don't think Toronto's team is built the right way, but both of these teams are competitive

I think we can all agree Eichel is the better playmaker Matthews is the better goal scorer. This shouldn’t be an argument.
