Jackets have no interest, or need for that matter, in acquiring TvR.

Very optimistic return for JVR. And Kruger over 3m for 3rd/4th line centre, doubt if this is very attractive to Vegas.

TVR return is maybe too high but he could be traded for any mid round draft pick at this point which is why I included it. But Kruger is a great penalty killer which is why he has that 3 Mil contract.

As a Hawks fan, the picks are quite aggressive. The AHL Monsters won the Calder Cup so their talent pool is pretty good. TVR can't be THAT much better than what they have in their system. At this point in time I don't think he'll get the CBJ 4th rounder since TVR isn't getting any playing time. With that said...I would expect him to get more playing time. The couple games Kempny has regressed ALOT to my eye. the game against MTL was fine, but TOR and WIN we're horrible. Got beat more than a few times. Got in Crawford's way last night allowing a goal, tripped over his own feet. Just looked overwhelmed. Maybe needs to sit down and study a bit more to help his transition. The Panik trade is closer, but the devil's advocate in me wants to note that while he does have 10 points in 17 games...0 points in his last 7. Give him credit for a good start though.

As far as Vegas goes...They're REQUIRED to pick up players with salary by the NHL. If I was Vegas he's a better choice than TVR, but I'm very confident that Kruger gets protected.

Drop Baun and sign Panik for like $1,000,000
Drop Fournier and resign Campbell for around $1-1.5 mil
      Don't sign McClement
Pokka won't get $925,000 with ZERO NHL games played. Or even 20 for that matter.
Hawks would want a 2017 pick or a bonafied bottom 6 forward in return for TvR.

As far as Kruger being taken in expansion, I can easily see it happen. Kruger's deal is really not as bad as everyone exaggerates it to be. He is the #1 PK player on almost any NHL team. He takes nearly 80% of his draws in the defensive zone yet almost always posts 50% in corsi and even higher Fenwick. He is also capable of putting up 20+ points if his zones starts are leveled off by only 10% more. An expansion team would be silly to pass over Kruger if he was available.
I have always been opposed to letting Kruger go in expansion but it may be the best thing for the Hawks. If Panarin takes a deal around 5-5.5 then maybe Kruger is protected in the draft, but if Panarin gets more than 6 (God I hope not) then Kruger is unprotected.
