Thats a terrible return. From MIN, it starts with Boldy. Of course, Danault comes with an extension. Otherwise, a non playoff team such as MIN wouldnt be a great fit for a tdl deal

Danault is to valuable right now to the Habs because of the youth at the center ice position. With two inexperienced centerman, they need that veteran at center for now and if they do decide to trade Danault, the return will be A LOT more than that.

No way Wild trade JEEK. If they do it's part of a bigger trade to get a true 1c type.

Well given the Wild aren't a real contender I don't think moving Boldy and a pick for a guy who is more realistically a middle 6 center and will be in his 30s by the time the Wild are any good, makes much sense.

That's a no. Danault isn't worth Boldy. You'd likely get Firstov, maybe Beckman instead. Asking for Boldy is like us asking for Caufield if our positions were reversed. Would you give him up for a player like Danault if that were the case?

To be clear. I very much would like Danault, as I think he would be the absolute perfect stop-gap until Rossi and our other center prospects are ready in a few years. Just like you need him for much the same reason now. That doesn't mean I want him to come with an extension. Quite the opposite actually. I'd rather we sign him to a short 2-3 year deal depending on the progress of our own center prospects and come to terms with him ourselves on a deal that both sides can agree and be happy with, not something long term that both sides will regret 4 years from now.
