This is such a relief as an Oilers fan. NCAA players are always a slippery slope and it's nice to no longer have to worry about him just walking away from the Oilers after finishing college. Kemp is a very solid prospect and will immediately contribute in the AHL if they have a season this year.

Yup. He's a shutdown defenseman so he doesn't put up a lot of points, but he has captained some good US national teams.

No word yet on the AHL season, but Edmonton's ECHL team is scheduled to play. He probably starts there.
