You 100% need the money next year, getting rental Saad allows you to get Lande, Makar locked down and resign Saad if you have money left.

It makes sense why they didn't do it, I just feel like Killorn Kadri Burakovsky would make an amazing line.

I suppose Saad isn't much of a downgrade from Killorn so I'm sure Saad Kadri Burakovsky will do fine.

I mean i'm glad we got something for zads rather than a 4th. Plus we will probily get more production out of saad then killorn. Sure killorn probily hits more but he would be riding 3rd line on this team

I don’t, killorn at his age and being on the books for multiple years, he hurts the cap sitch next season

You add killorn you don’t get toews. That was the flex money for next season

Long term the right move was made. Saad expires next year while Killorn does not. Saad's type of game is going to fit incredibly well in Colorado. Even if Killorn and Saad had the same exact contract I think Saad is a better fit for the avs. You aren't going to be disappointed with what he brings to the table. I expect Saad's production to increase next season. He has spent the last few years all over the lineup. Not because of his performance but rather because the hawks trying to figure out how to balance their lineup. Some consistency with line mates and his role on the ice will help him.

I agree, Saad makes way more sense financially. I just think that Killorn Kadri Burakovsky would be an amazing 2nd line.

That is a great line. But I also think Saad Kadri and Burakovsky is an amazing line that has every opportunity to be just as good or even better than that line. I do not think it is clear cut that Killorn is better than Saad nor Saad better than Killorn. Regardless, the 2nd line will be pretty damn good lol.

Actually the line I really want to see is Landy Kadri Saad an absolute agony for opposing teams, super solid defense, that can grind and score and is absolute sand paper.
