If the Rangers had wanted Brisson, they could have just taken him instead of trading up for Schneider. So pretty sure they say no to that one.

The Rangers traded up to get Schneider, now, they are trading him away for a guy picked later?

I don't think things change that much in the next 6-7 months...
If they're trading valued assets (RD or otherwise) for a C, it's gonna be for someone who can slot in as a 2C straight away

I still think Vegas is going to have a wild offseason next offseason, and possibly even buyout fleury, and try to have a pile of cap to pick off anybody that doesn’t quite make the protection list and too good to lose for free, so Vegas offers up some picks to solve the issue for them. Being exempt from expansion is going to be a ideal time to go all in for a 3-5 year window of success.

I don't see Vegas making the Schneider trade. Brisson is looking like the kind of player that will replace a Max Pacioretty which they don't have. On the other hand Vegas has a good number of talented defensemen in their system. Vegas needs goal scorers more than they need more defense.
