There are a very large number of teams that would make a legit offer for McDonagh

You would think so but I'm not so sure. I hope someone does.

Due to his age, contract length, and cap hit I doubt it, but time will tell.

Sabres don’t have the cap space either. There’s nothing wrong with Okposo.

He would pull something small. I mean take out the extras here and give them a 7th for him and it at least looks plausible

Okposo is definitely worth 6M.

at that rate, they might as well keep McDonagh for one more year and lose him to Seattle.
Like that much only for a 7th?

He’s a great 3rd liner. Overpaid, but his line of Girgensons-Larson-Okposo. played a lot like the Goodrow-Gourde-Coleman line.

except not as good. Sure he might be a good bottom 6 forward which is basically why I didn't say there was wrong with him except his contract.

There are only 7 teams that could absorb his caphit. One is Columbus who will not have the cap space to take on his cap number once they sign Dubois. The other teams would need TB to take back cap which they don't have the ability to do. I doubt McDonagh waives for any of the teams with that cap space.

Julien BriseBois isn't surrendering a 1st round pick and Taylor Raddysh for Ryan McDonagh get real. That's to move Tyler Johnson's contract not McDonagh's.

I agree about McD not waiving but there are ways where TBL could take back some cap space and draft picks. My entire pt was no way TBL is sending a 1st to just get rid of him.

That depends on who else they are able to move. If his contract ends up being the one that can be moved, I could see them doing this so they can keep Cirelli and Cernak. The first is likely a late 1st and that is not that high a price to pay to clear 7 million in cap for 6 years. Also that is one less protection needed for the expansion draft so now they don't need to expose Sergachev or Cernak by moving this contract.
