Makes absolutely no sense for Pittsburgh to be trading assets for futures when they have Crosby and Malkin. There's also no reason for Ottawa to be trading their own 1st when they're going be virtually guaranteed to be last place in your division.

No way does Dallas take that, and Ottawa won't trade Connor Brown. He's literally the reason they were willing to take Zaitsev to begin with.

That 3rd deal is insanely horrible for Ottawa. Sens signed a Star RW on a bargain contract, and they trade him for a substantially worse player, while also giving up a young D and a 3rd.

Penguins are not rebuilding. We arnt trading Guentzel and Dumoulin for futures. For a 1st round pick and a 18 year old and a 20 year old.

Guentzel is a part of our future even when Sid, Geno and letang are done.

Guentzel by himself would bring back a good young NHL player with potential, a top 100 prospect and a 1st or 2nd round pick.

C.Wolanin has little to no value.

Dumoulin is a top pairing Defensemen on a play-off team. He would bring a good return back too.

Dadonov must have really dropped off to consider that deal. I guess it’s not completely unrealistic.

You guys *just* signed Dadonov, man. Besides, the Blues don't have the cap space for it. Even if they did, they'd probably decline because it would be trading a much younger, much cheaper player on the rise for a much older, much more pricey guy who looks like he's falling off a cliff and we have LDs better than Djoos falling out of our ears ATM. It looks good on the surface, but just doesn;t work.

You forgot a few additional 1sets coming from Ottawa in that Pittsburgh trade. Note, "... a few additional..."

So I notice this is the 22/23 Senators, but even so, these are not good trades. It's difficult enough to create trades for the current season, looking that far ahead, you don't know where the teams will be in relation to competing.
