Matt Duchene to the NJD makes absolutely no sense what so ever, NJD already have Nico Hischier as their 1C and Jack Hughes as their 2C. Even with the $1,500,000 retention on Matt Duchene he's still an expensive $6,500,000 3C for the foreseeable future. The NJD would be insane to pay Matt Duchene that much for 3rd line minutes.

Pretty sure Oilers decline. Chaisson is cheaper and has better production then Sissons. Never seen or heard of Harper really. But looking him up he has 0 NHL experience and is pretty small for his age. He put up decent numbers but I don't think him plus the third is enough to take Sissons cap dump from Nash.

Both of these trades are horrible for Nashville and make no sense

NSH gets beaten up pretty badly in both of these proposals. The EDM one is especially bad. Sissons has significantly more value than Chiasson alone. Adding a higher pick and a prospect makes it even more lopsided. @DiehardRedWingsFan58 is right that NJ doesn't make sense in a Duchene trade. They've got enough young depth at center right now. Both teams would decline that one.

He, or one of the kids, could play the wing. I just dont see NAS retaining for that long.

Yeah i totally agree, Thought about Duchene on the wing instead. And yeah i doubt Poile is willing to eat $9 million of Duchene's salary.

I love seeing these teams struggle with the cap after making big free agent splashes years ago. Fans, especially on this site, rip apart their teams for not going out and spending money on July 1st (or whatever).
Same can be said for teams like TB who just dish out NMC/NTC like they wont bite them in the a$$. I guess a cup ring makes that easier to handle haha

I disagree, Chaisson has better numbers, 1 year at 2.15. Sissons 6 x 2.875ish. cap dump for Nash.. they would have to pay someone to take him. And this probably isn't enough.

LMAO what? Unlike Sissons, Chiasson is a defensive liability. Both are bottom 6 forwards but at least Sissons can do a bottom 6 players job. I'm taking Sissons long term steal of a contract vs 1 year of Chiasson 7 days a week and twice on Sundays

Yeah, Chiasson did alright on the PP in EDM's system but that's about it. Not sure that he'd have anymore success than anyone else has in NSH. Sissons' contract is one of those long term ones that'll increase in value as time goes on, like Jarnkrok or Ekholm. Sissons is the more complete player by a mile. I wouldn't trade him straight up for Chiasson, or even want to spend the 3rd on AC. Don't really know what we have in Harper yet. His trade value might not be very high right now, but I'd rather give him a look in Milwaukee before moving on from him.

I still disagree, dairy over values way to much, it's actually pretty ridiculous. However, I can understand your argument gmgb but still think Chaisson at 1 year and 2.15 with everything he brings to EDM and is still a solid bottom 6 player who plays his role on the PP well over 6 years at 2.875 for a better bottom 6 player I guess according to Dairy.. even with the current cap situation.. I just don't see it.
