Bennett for Kerfoot has been debated to death on here in the past. 90% of flames fans here wouldn't even do the 1 for 1 so no Calgary wouldn't add more. OP is new so they unaware.

But I think it's time, the Kerfoot contract is one of the best Toronto has and Bennett is an RFA this season. If he asks for 4 million, it will be hard to match.

If he does enough to earn 4mil I will gladly pay him 4mil, but he’d need to put up at least 25g 60p and establish himself as a top 6 forward to earn that lol

But Keerfot is already a near 60 point producer so I think this trade is very good for the flames.

Kerfoot would be the 5th best center in Calgary. I highly doubt he would play above Ryan in the depth charts

He was a 40 point player in Colorado when he was getting prime powerplay minutes. In Toronto he became a 30-35 point player that doesnt really offer much else, while making 3.5M. If Bennett even remotely normalizes his production again we are spending an extra million in cap for 5-8 extra points.[/quote

ok maybe not 60 points, he is at least consistently 50 point scorer. Bennett is a consistent 35 point scorer and we are using him as a winger. I'm trading mostly for the contract. If he doesn't break out, he would at least give 50 points. If he does, his contract is a huge steal.

Why would Kerfoot ever play above Dube, Mangiapane, Gaudreau or Tkachuk? Not even including Lindholm he is not a top 6 winger in Calgary.

The way you set the lines doesn't make them correct, the coaching staff would never play Kerfoot at 2LW when they can play Dube there

Bennett has one year left on his contract and 35 point scorer paid 2.5 million dollars is somewhat an ok deal. This year was a shortened season. Kerfoot was on foot to get 45 points. Bennett only got 18 points this year. Stop arguing you're being reluctant to relook ur player's value.
