Walk me through Murray getting moved for a 5th rounder, and then a couple months later a useful prospect? Maybe if zboril starts as a full time NHLer and really disappoints.

Plus Zboril is 23. He'll turn 24 in Feb. The likelihood of him becoming anything more than a number 5 is pretty slim. So this is a fair move, good job.

He’s still a cap dump. He’s still injured a lot. Sounds like zboril is starting the year with the bruins, so i would set your sights on maybe a 4th round pick.

    This one won’t get through.

Nah. Although if him being a very solid defensive number 4 equals stinking than I guess he stinks

Good news is we don’t have to guess at what he’s worth.

    It’s a 5th round pick.

Sure. If he becomes a completely different player, he could be worth more. I feel like that kind of goes without saying.

He was moved for a 5th because the Jackets were trying to shed salary to sign a big fish in free agency. Not sure if you heard, but players value are depressed due to the flat cap.

Also, please walk me through the analytical model that supports your claim of him being a bad hockey player, because every one I’ve seen has him as, at worst, a rock solid 4th defender.

My evaluation of him is based off my observations, not charts.

Not sure if you heard, but the league is still in a flat cap era, and the bruins aren’t exactly swimming in cap space.

Its a low risk pick since it's only 1 year plus they will probably have a ton of cap space

9m is a big cap hit, even if his real world salary is low. If they're interested, they can always circle back and get retention in a trade. I'd put money on them taking a forward from NJ's pool.

Montreal decline. Byron is worth way more than a 5th round pick.
