He’s not, but he’s a young NHL player and under team control. Kratsov is a question mark

Also Pettersson and Marino together....very good

... so keep him

He’s not risky at all and lindgren would be better than pettersson and we wouldn’t be able to protect him

He was underwhelming in the AHL this year. He’s a risky prospect forsure. Pettersson is far better than Lindgren at the moment. He’s 2 years older sure, but at the moment he’s a better D. This trade is a huge L for pit

Ya, fair. I’d think maybe better defensively; but doesn’t have the offensive upside of Pettersson

It’s a huge L for us we have no need for an overpaid and lengthy contract for a prospect that’ll be a 2nd liner in a year or two

Calling Pettersson “overpaid” just shows how little you know about him LOL.

Ya I don’t think the contract is a steal, but for a guy that’s a good number 4, and produces offensively....4m is really solid.
And his numbers with Marino are top pair good so...there is that

Coaches don’t trust him to PK though and he does have some zone coverage issues; but he’s fine off the rush.

Matheson and him actually are similar if Matheson didn’t have continuous turnovers, which also speaks to how good Matheson could be behind Pettersson and Dumoulin.

His contract isn’t a “steal”, but it’s definitely fair, good value for a player like him. He’s by no means “overpaid”

Ya I think he’s just not really appreciated outside of Pittsburgh with Letang, Marino, and Dumoulin all kinda big names now. I imagine he’s just not really that known as an asset.

His metrics are comfortably top 4 across the board

Shame he is Seattle bait

He was a legit top 4 D who averaged over 20 mins tonight and had excellent underlying metrics. What are you even talking about...

He played his worst hockey of his career. Either way we don’t want him or need him, we’ll stick to our prospects.

He’s 24.... and he had a great season. Don’t know what Marcus Petterson you’re watching. He’d be by far your best LHD

Pens pass on this trade all day. Makes zero sense for them

Unless they make good use of the cap space and sign Granlund/Haula/Vatanen or make another trade for 3C and/or D

Kravtsov for Pettersson, 2nd.

You can flip the 2nd to the other side and Pittsburgh still says no.

Kravtsov, 2nd for Pettersson = Pittsburgh still says no.
