this might be a overpayment considering that 1st rounder will most likely by top five

Trading for Barzal and not including either of your top 2 prospects (Turcotte and Byfield) is a non-starter.

with this team? Doubt it. All they'd need is one solid D to be a playoff contender imo

Firstly, the Islanders would just sign Barzal to that contract.

Secondly, quantity does not equal quality. Trade starts with Byfield or Turcotte.

If, big if, they are hand cuffed for whatever reason and they need to trade him I’d say they take an offer similar to this.

The team icing Martin Frk as a top 6 winger is gonna make the playoffs, lets pump the brakes there a bit

For the purpose of this particular team. I wasn’t making it out to be a playoff team currently

Agree with this statement. I also believe kings will spend their money/players on a Dman not a forward. I was just bored and wanted to make a crazy trade involving a player that is still interesting

The primary point everyone is missing is that the Kings don't need Barzal now, once the rebuild is finished they are set to have one of the deepest center corps in the league (Kopitar, Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Andersson, Madden, Kupari). There is no logic to the Kings paying $9M for Barzal handicapping signing future players. While in contrast there is a chance Vilardi signs a very team-friendly deal. Vilardi's injuries held him back, and the Kings did not rush that process, the team has never asked him to sacrifice his health and he seems to gel well with OPs and players.

It was more of a kings could make this trade and still have a ridiculous amount of talent in the pipeline type of post

I would not trade Byfield for Barzal 1 for 1 if I were Kings. Turcotte sure.

Vilardi will be better than Turcotte and I wouldn't do this anyway. By the time Vilardi and Turcotte enter their prime, the combination of the two of them will be better than Barzal...

There are many reasons why the Kings won't make the playoffs, but don't sleep on Martin Frk, he was crazy good with Vilardi in Ontario and there chemistry translated to the NHL.

Byfield? In no world does Barzal return Byfield for "starters" so settle down guy. Turcotte has the potential to be as good as Barzal if not better. Same with Vilardi....

There isn't a deal to be made, Barzal isn't even a top 5 center, or even top 10... Kings will strive with Byfield, Vilardi, and Turcotte.

The only type of player the Kings should be trading for is a top 6 RW, but not for a couple seasons.

Kempe doesn't play RW and is a top 6 filler because the Kings only better LW is Iafallo. Carter is not a top 6 player anymore.

Wings are fairly interchangeable I'm sure someone could move to their off side to make that happen.
