I don’t get why the Hawks want to rebuild. I know management said they would, but their roster is not that bad especially with guys like Kane and Toews along with young stars like Dach, Kubalik, and Boqvist emerging.

You’re rebuild doesn’t include Dylan Strome?

They kinda half to, but not yet. Their core can still play well but not for long. So I would understand them rebuilding in a year or so, but they just did it earlier rather than later.

Our offense and future defense is fine but we dont have a goalie which will be our downfal for the next few seasons. Also Colliton is a joke of a coach.

I don’t think the Pens would trade Lafferty for Shaw. the organization thinks he can be a 3rd line LW. And a good bottom 6 forward...good two-way player. He’s got good size too. And fast. He always looks bigger and thicker on the ice than other players. I think he’s bigger than the listed 6’1, 195 pounds. But either way, I don’t think they trade a young player, that just got his 1st NHL experience last year, and that the organization likes and is on a cheap contract( they just re-signed him this off-season) for A 30 year old Shaw making 3.9M. Who is injured right now.

I think the pens would be interested in Stome though. Or atleast as a pens fan I hope they would. But his value would be much higher than just Lafferty. I think depending what he signs for.But It would be like PO-Joseph( a top 100 prospect), Lafferty and their 2nd round pick next year. PO Joseph is better than Niku and would be a good, young LHD for your 2nd D paring.

It not even about the players, the penguins just don't have the cap for that.
On top of it, is he even healthy? It's hard to trade guys on IR
