Seems like trotz stubbornly plays “his guys’ no matter what the outcome is. The isles could have literally played any replacement level players instead of those two and they’d have 2-4 more points in the regular season.

Agreed like i said number 1 if someone makes his lineups but you cant ignore what he did with this team

He holds the team back with decisions like that. He shouldn’t be praised for our coaching his own bad lineup decisions

If you seperate the 2 things for a minute, coaching the players hes great at and his system works just he plays the wrong guys. Not saying it doesnt matter just saying hes still a great coach

Fair point - but I’d rather have a coach that impliments structure but ices the best lineup. We’d have more success

The key to success is drafting and developing prospects (at the AHL and nhl levels). Trotz doesn’t seem to care about the future of the franchise and would rather play guys that make him feel comfortable. It will hurt the team sooner than later
