What did Arvidsson do, to deserve such disrespect? NSH takes you off the Christmas card list.

So which dman do we lose in expansion? 5 dmen.

I could kind of follow along if Ellis disappeared to a nylander type player but as is I just don’t get it. Hoffman replaces the goals from arvidsson but doesn’t replace the heart and soul arvidsson brings.

I hate to break it to you man, but burns at 6 million still has negative value. Donato has no value, so its still negative value for an incredibly high end asset.

You’re more than one first round pick away from fair value.

Arvidsson isn't an incredibly high end asset. I'm not even sure he's a positive asset anymore: https://www.ontheforecheck.com/2020/10/26/21209429/2019-20-nashville-predators-player-report-cards-season-in-review-viktor-arvidsson

Feel free to make the arguments about Burns and Donato (I disagree, but I see the argument), but have to pump the brakes on Arvidsson. Ellis/Forsberg/Ekholm are incredibly high end assets, not Arvidsson. Before last year there was an argument to include him in that convo, probably barely so. But definitely not after last season. Bounceback potential is there of course though but can't classify him as incredibly high-end until we see it again.

Over the last four seasons, he has 109 goals in 273 games. He’s 27 and has four years at 4.25 with no signing bonuses. Ya, he’s high end.

Absolutely not high-end. I can go on and on about Burns over the last four seasons. But I won't bc, and I know you'll agree with me, what matters most is last season and going forward. There were a lot of things in Arvidsson's play last season that should be very worrisome, that we saw in seasons prior but were masked bc they weren't as glaring and also they were covered by his offensive high-end genius. But teams have adapted to playing his style and he doesn't have that offensive prowess and his defensive play is glaringly bad now, and NSH would be wise to flip him while they can: https://www.ontheforecheck.com/2020/10/26/21209429/2019-20-nashville-predators-player-report-cards-season-in-review-viktor-arvidsson.

They’re not protecting Johansson. They would beg Seattle to take him.

Hoffman isn’t on their team.

I'm talking about this scenario obviously as a reply to someone's question for how this roster would shape up against the SEA draft. Otherwise wouldn't have included Burns there either.

Regardless, they don’t protect Johansson.

You're right on that. They'd protect Kunin instead.

Burns has retired in California like so many of his teammates with his very restrictive M NTC. He doesn't waive for an iffy playoff team like Nashville.

I think the thought process is Burns' personality isn't very... democrat or liberal, let's leave it there... and it may make him consider a move to NSH with all the covid restrictions in SJ anyways and also it potentially impacting SJ's ability to actually play in SJ. That, no more BFF Jumbo, I don't think Burns denies a trade to NSH, especially with the competitive proposed roster put together for NSH here.
