Description

Might even need to throw in another B+ prospect or 1st round pick. Some may argue, OMG DEANGELO! Nah. Florida is fine on D for a couple years, just in time for guys to retire/leave and for Zach Jones (who looks like a stud) to make his way onto the team.

How do you access value? Easy. When DeAngelo is in every single trade, value is moderate but not original. What about trading Zach Jones? Nah, hes a stud, hes a future piece for us. BAM, thats the guy you want to trade for Barkov.

It may not be but I think its getting closer, maybe add in a 2nd round pick. Also have to consider the fact that Barkov is a UFA. To a point you dont want to push exceedingly hard, lose the interest youve gotten and then he walks for nothing.

Well, I agree thats the optimal situation. However, if you can put together a package for Florida so you can cut out all the competition, its probably worth it.

The whole point is to pair the Fin's together. Secondly, theres no reason for the Rangers to go far above and beyond when theres the chance he becomes a UFA. Theyre essentially trading for the rights to negotiate and sign.

Some would say Zib might be somewhat overrated. However, to have a Barkov / Zibanejad - 1 / 2 punch gives them one of the best C combos in the league. You cant win a cup without having legit center depth which we dont have.
