I know Nurses's age gives him more value than Ekholm. But I think Neal being a cap dump and the presence of 3other assets helps in fixing that

NSH gets a pretty big cap dump (although they'd likely buy Neal out at the end of the 20-21 season), as well as an ok prospect, a pick and a younger d-man than Ekholm.

From Nashville's perspective i Pass.

Nurse is younger yes.... but also 1) More caphit 2) UFA at the same time as Ekholm.

If Nurse had a longer contract, i'd definitely consider it.

Nah, this is already on the verge of being to much when your getting the younger better D man and a prospect and picks.

Can't see NSH doing this. Ekholm is significantly better than Nurse, and with both players being UFA in two years the age difference isn't much of a consideration. The other pieces coming from EDM aren't really enticing enough to downgrade from Ekholm to Nurse, even before taking on Neal's contract.

Nah, Nurse’s defense is very subpar. And he lacks consistency. And Ekholm’s offense is underrated

Deal! Ekholm is WAY better than Nurse! And on a great contract for a few! And shedding Neal is definitely great, and for a cheep price while getting the better defence man as well.

Nah, Nurse is 5 years younger, still hasn't reached full potential, Ekholm at his age and usage will start to decline now, these next two years nurse will be better then Ekholm. That's all that matters. The only thing this trade accomplishes for EDM is getting out from under Neal contract making room for another trade that actually improves EDM, this trade doesn't, it only creates space for one

Ekholm isn't going to decline that fast. For the next two years, Ekholm will still be better barring injuries. I've been through this as a Nashville fan with the Weber trade. I told myself Weber was gonna decline any day now and now i'd much rather have Weber then Subban. When it comes to the next contract, I'd rather pay Nurse then Ekholm due to age.

Ekholm is way better and I don’t see Nurse being better. Also he won’t decline as he’s only 30 and he’s very good! We also save so much cap 7.6M or something like that.
