Flames pass and Pens pass on the Detroit trade. Tanev worked for us last year. If he chips in 10+ goals and 30 points while being great defensively I’m fine with him

I appreciate the value you're going for with Johnny. I struggle to see the Flames trading their 1st or 2nd best player (depending on who you talk to) and accepting to retain salary.

But...

It wouldn't take Joseph and a 2nd to move Tanev. There was a multi team bidding war when he signed, and he had a really good year. His value has gone up.
