If the Pens would have taken McCabe last year instead of Sheary and Rodrigues

Created by: PGHBOB69
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 23, 2020
Published: Dec. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the Pens would have done the “rumored” Jake McCabe trade, last year at the trade deadline, for D.Kahun; Instead of getting Sheary and Rodrigues.

But I guess the Pens wanted the forwards. JJ and Shultz fuc*ked the team up, coming and going!!

And then the Pens could have traded the Florida Panthers for someone like A.Wennberg and C.Sceviour for P.Hornqvist and I added a 3rd round pick.

Or trade Hornqvist to another team(a contender) for an upgrade at the 3C. Someone like Calgary and Sam Bennet for Hornqvist. Or Vegas and C.Stephenson. We wouldn’t have need Mathewson though, another LHD.

Use the cap space to sign Rodrigues if we wanted him on our 3rd line RW. Or sign someone like A. Duclair for the 3rd line RW.

Thats what the couple articles I read said Bud. I just didn’t pull it out of no where. It was D.Kuhn for McCabe. Or D.Kahun for Rodrigues and Sheary. And the Pens had JJ and Shultz at that time. So they took the forwards.

Debate the trade all you want, I don't get how Wennberg makes this team better.

Ok just saying its a moot point because that wasn't realistically on the table.

Just saying. The pens wouldn’t have traded Horngvist for Matheson if they took McCabe last year, instead of Sheary and Rodrigues; which both were rumored to be offered. It’s explained more in the description.

Ok, it’s not what I read. I’ll find the articles and link them.

Jason Botterill is actually pretty unpredictable so maybe it was.

I think Matheson will look better after Reirden gets a hold of him.

Ya, I’ll google it. It was a Penguins beat writers article though. So take from that what u will. I’m sure they are alittle bias. Probably more than alittle..lol. It is mooted though cause it never happened. But I read articles after that trade saying that Kahun was The Sabers answers to their top 6 wing too. If that’s what they thought, then I could imagine. And the Pens had no need for McCabe at the TD last year. Now it looks really bad though. That were were able to get rid of jack Johnson and didn’t re-sign J.Shultz.

Still so disappointed how they let him walk. Such a convoluted org sometimes.

Ya, he’s young too. I think still like 25. And I think McCabe was getting benched or scratched from
Games last year from what I remember. Was that true?or I could be remembering it wrong too..lol.

Ya, Kahun is only 25 and played 2 decent seasons so far. 37 points 1st year and 31 points last year. I don’t know why the Pens got rid of him either.

Dahlin?? Mountour?? Ristolainen??
