How does this trade work for Edmonton? Taking on Kreiders 6.5 million salary puts them over the cap. Unless you propose who is being shipped out.

I mean, probably Neal and Chiasson but in the past I've heard Kreids doesn't want to play in CAN so there's that. But Kreids would fit amazingly with McDavid that's for sure. Add JP to that and they'd have a very good 1st line

I think the Rags are *stuck* with Kreider (I don't know that that's the right word, since he's still a good player, there's just less need in NY for him now, and his contract might restrict them from adding in other areas). I'd assume that Buch and Strome are the more likely candidates to be moved at some point.

I also don't think that he'd waive to go just about anywhere.

Edmonton can't afford Kreider, whether he waives or not. And they just drafted a guy with a nearly identical skillset - Dylan Holloway. If Kreider was on a 2/3 year deal they might be interested, but not with his current 7 year pact.

agree here 100pct. kreids would be a nice fit for Mcd, but he has huge value to rangers as well even as a "3rd line " guy with buch and chytil and as a 1a or 1b PP guy. his strength is something we need come ranger contender time and guys like buch and strome are more easily moved as the young kids develop. when ur "older" "overpaid" beasts like kreider are relegated to your 3rd line b/c the kids, thats when ur u have a championship roster.
