How is that a ripoff? Decent prospect plus a couple picks for a playoff warhorse with retained salary is very fair. A lot of other contenders would take that trade in a heartbeat. Teams pay a premium to add a guy like getzlaf at the deadline

Are you guys unfamiliar with the concept of a playoff rental? getzlaf makes Winnipeg a much stronger cup contender for the playoffs. That’s the whole point of this trade.

That like an extreme case if they make like first in the Canadian division but other than that, no way its happening.

I get it but Getzlaf's isn't what Winnipeg is missing to win the Cup. Currently, they aren't a contender. Not even sure they make the playoffs so there's lots of ifs right now. Let's see how good he can be this season; 36yo C with this style of play rarely bring this back.

Jets already made their move with Stastny. They have no interest in trading away more draft picks for a player who is near the end of his career. Having said that if there is a specific need at the trade deadline due to injury or lack of depth I think Chevy will address it then.

Sabres pass now way they are trading Risto and a second for Manson. Manson has really struggled the last couple of years and he has a 12 team no trade where as Risto has no trade protection
