Additional Details:
Idea here is that Tampa received a shorter contract and they sign Cirelli/Cernak to a 2 year hometown discount and give them Leddy’s money afterward. Isles get the better player who Trotz would probably love. Might need picks to balance, but I don’t know which way they’d be going or how much it would be.

It was reported that he decline 7.5 mill on a long term deal. On a bridge he’ll get between 7-7.5 mill.

that was before Boychuk is out. I saw this the other day on Twitter from a apparent islander insider.

He won’t go on bridge. I could see him going on bridge if Johnny didn’t get hurt and his cap was taken out of the question. There is still speculation your clearing cap and u have 9.9 in cap rn (im pretty sure). I can assure you he won’t take a bridge deal at 7 but dream big rock star.

We’re too cap strapped to give him long term. Sorokin, Pelech and Beau all need to be paid next summer. He gets a bridge I bet, and MAYBE it pushes 8 but it won’t go over. Thanks for ur expert insight tho pal

Lol seriously. Another thing is how tf did pulock only get 2 years if he knew boychuk was going on LTIR. I’m confident pulock will re-sign but why not get him on a 4-5 year deal and then let him walk when he’s 30.

Louis blows my mind sometimes man

Can you think of any reason why he would walk pulock to UFA in 2 years? Like I said, I think he re-signs but what was the point in giving him leverage in contract negotiations in 2 years.

So dumb. It will be interesting to see how wilde develops.

if they give Aho a shot and only sign barzal for 2 years. Dobson, Aho, barzal, pulock due for contracts at the same time...

Not next offseason IMO - the one after, maybe. So many things can change in 2 years. The main goal should be to get younger - sometimes I feel like trotz doesn’t care about the future , he cares what makes him feel comfortable

I know, but we have a lot of buyout friendly contracts (hickey, komarov,Leddy) and it shouldn’t cost much to move any of them with 1 year left. I also wouldn’t be surprised if ladd goes on LTIR

Hickey (saves 1.8 mill) , Leddy (saves 4.25 mill).
